Wendy Dress

I don’t know if there are words to express just how grateful I am that this company exists. Several years ago when I was prom dress shopping I left one of the biggest malls in my state empty handed and with red eyes because it was upsetting that none of the dresses I like came in a size large enough for me. The store associate pointed me in the direction of the maternal/elderly section and said I might find something there. I cried. Of course prom never happened that year so I guess it was okay in the end. Moral of the story trying on this dress gave me the thrill and joy that I should have gotten from that prom dress shopping experience. It fit perfectly, maybe a bit big but I ordered a size larger than my measurements simply because I didn’t know this dress would have some give so it wouldn’t be too tight. Had I got the size for me I’m sure it would have fit really good. The dress is gorgeous but still not uncomfortable at all.

This Wendy dress is such a dream come true. It makes me feel like a princess! Depending on how you accessorize it, you can have a very playful or regal look. I bought the teal Wendy to piece together a regency look inspired by Stede Bonnet from Our Flag Means Death. The color is just so perfect, it was a huge hit at my local convention. I felt so beautiful while wearing this dress, and I got so many compliments!

The dress is quite long, I had to have mine hemmed. Then again, I am only 5'2. Most dresses I purchase need shortening. The stretchy panel in the back makes it quite easy to wear the dress for many hours. I love when a dress can be fancy but still comfortable! I want to get this dress in every color!

I got this dress for an upcoming wedding. I was SO excited to try it on the second I got it! I've been having some ~self image issues~, having gained weight recently. I cannot stress enough how gorgeous this dress makes me FEEL. I didn't know it was possible for a piece of clothing to make me feel this way. You can probably see it in my smile in the photos. Regardless of how I actually look, I love the way it fits and even hides my insecurities (upper arms).

Fitting tips: if you're between sizes, I'd recommend sizing down. I got a 2XL, but likely could have fit nicely into a 1XL since the back is stretchy and has some give. With the 2XL, the smocking doesn't stretch at all, but it still fits! I'm 5'4" and the dress touches the ground in my bare feet. Definitely wearable with flats but a heel would be fine too.

Anyway, thank you JessaKae! I'm in love with the design and how it fits. Most of all, I love that this dress makes me feel confident and beautiful. And that's priceless.
