Our Story
It started in my basement…
JessaKae started in 2016 in my basement apartment in Draper, Utah. I folded dresses on my couch, stacked boxes wherever they would fit, and made every post office run myself. I didn’t have a warehouse or a perfect business plan. I just knew I wanted to create beautiful dresses for women who had spent far too long being overlooked by fashion.
Inspired by my Grandma
Growing up, I watched my plus-size grandma struggle to find clothing that felt beautiful, special, or designed with her in mind. I never forgot how limited her options were, or how often women like her were treated as an afterthought. When I created JessaKae, I wanted to make the dresses she deserved to have. Dresses that didn’t ask women to hide, change, or settle for whatever happened to come in their size. That has been at the heart of JessaKae from the beginning.
Made for your life
We create romantic, feminine dresses for every version of life, the weddings and celebrations, the family photos, the ordinary Tuesdays, and all the moments that become more meaningful than you expected. Every piece is thoughtfully designed in a full range of sizes so more women can experience the joy of falling in love with a dress and knowing it was made with them in mind. You shouldn’t have to imagine what a dress would look like if it came in your size. You should be able to put it on, feel beautiful, and be part of the story.
The heart hasn’t changed
What started in my basement has grown into a community of more than 3.2 million women. It’s bigger than I ever imagined, but the reason behind it has stayed the same. We believe women of every size deserve more than simply being included. They deserve beautiful, intentional designs that celebrate them from the very beginning. A little about me
I’m Jessa
The founder and creative heart behind JessaKae. I’m a single mom to two little boys, Gatsby and Jazz, and they’re the biggest part of my world. I’m also a photographer, musician, lifelong creative, and someone who has always felt things deeply.
I’ve built this brand through many different versions of myself: becoming a mother, growing a business, navigating divorce, rebuilding my life, and learning how to trust my own voice along the way. JessaKae has grown alongside me through all of it.
I’m involved in nearly every creative part of the brand, from dreaming up collections and choosing fabrics to planning photoshoots and finding new ways to make women feel seen. I still care just as much about every detail as I did when I was folding dresses on my couch.
JessaKae is more than a clothing brand to me. It’s a piece of my story, and it’s an incredible privilege when one of our dresses becomes part of yours.
